Teaching Kids Breaking the Law is OK?

In order to lower statistics of students being arrested for violating laws and going from school to jail, the Clark Country School system has changed guidelines that will now allow “more leniency” when students possess drug paraphernalia, or less than one ounce of THC, disturb the peace, resist a public officer, commit petty larceny, damage school property or be a truant.  Since the relaxation of these guidelines, harassment at schools is uptrending.  No wonder.  If students know they can get away with hardly any penalty for the aforementioned and more, some students will take part in such activities.  They only way to teach students about this world and responsibility and consequences for ones actions and that one is responsible for the state one is in, is to make them responsible for their actions.  The reverse will move this society and today’s students as they become adults, more in the direction of anarchy with less individuals following the laws of the land.  Already today, I rarely ever see a vehicle that comes to a complete stop, at a red stop sign and every time I am out doing errands or transporting my grand daughters to and from school, I see at least one vehicle rushing through an intersection, when the light is so red, it will not be getting any redder!  We must teach our students about personal responsibility, so that we are positively investing in our future.  Otherwise the future will look pretty depressing, dangerous and lawless…
